The Liebster Blog Award

The lovely Kerry at The Woman at the Well has passed down the Liebster Blog Award to my humble little blog. Kerry is a new blogger, but her blog is full decor ideas, and delicious recipes that will have you drooling. This is very exciting, and I can't thank Kerry enough for "passing it  along".

The Liebster is an award given to up and coming blogs, having less than 200 followers.  The word "Liebster" is of german origin, meaning "Beloved, Dearest, or Favorite".  I am truly honored to receive this award.

Now, I am to 'pay it forward' by passing the award to 5 other new, inspirational blogs that I absolutely love to read:

Jennifer at Dimples and Tangles
Christine at First Home Love Life
Katie at Let's add Sprinkles
Jacque at The DIY Village
Angie at Swede Dreamer

So ladies, to accept the award you must:

1. Link back to the person who gave it to you.

2. Post the award to your blog.

3. Give the award to 5 bloggers with less than 200 followers.

4. Leave a comment on the 5 blogs to let them know that they have been offered this award.

Thanks again Kerry for the award.  Hope everyone gets a chance to check out this amazing new blogs.

Have a great week.

Ruffled Lamp Shade

I recently started getting a few things to make a reading nook for my daughter in her room.  I love nothing more than a nice comfy chair to sit on and enjoy a good book, but of course, most of her reading happens at night, and she needed a new lamp for that side of the room.  Hobby Lobby had a sale last week, and all of their lamps were 50% off (I never go in there without a coupon)  I was able to purchase a small lamp for her for only $15.  The shade it came with was a burgundy colored one, and her bedroom colors are pink, white and green, so the burgundy had to go.  I purchased a plain white shade from Target, but it was just too boring for my taste.  I wanted to make a coffee filter shade, but while researching on line for inspirations, I was reminded of some lovely ruffle shades I had seen on blog land a while ago, which I really liked.

My Entomology Wall

I have finally finished the wall in my family room that had sat empty for so long before, and I have to say, I really like how it turned out.  I have a love with Entomology prints, ever since I spotted some in the Ballard Designs magazine, but they are sooo expensive, so I had tried looking for some prints that I could frame on Etsy, but they just did not stand out, or were the wrong price.  I recently discovered Jeniffer's blog, and she made the most amazing entomology gallery wall that I have seen.  She managed to make a whole wall of gallery, with pictures from this amazing book.  I couldn't believe my eyes when I went to purchase it at Amazon, and saw the price...I was in heaven.
